Hello Jandro! Can you please introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Jandro. I’m 19 years old and I am a MC from Albuquerque, NM.
How did you get your rap name Jandro?
My name Jandro comes from my birth name which is Alejandro, I just shortened it .
What is special about you as an artist that people should check out your music?
What is special about me as an artist is I mix my Latin roots with hip-hop and I have found my own lane
How would you describe your sound and style?
I would describe it as if Carlos Santana and Selena had a baby and Big Pun raised him.
Are you currently working on a project?
Yes, I am currently working on a project called “New Mexico”. It has a great collaboration of producers.
What would you say has been your biggest accomplishment so far in your music career?
Moving to L.A. would be my biggest accomplishment of my career because it opened me up to a lot more opportunities.
Is there any artist you would love to work with? If so, why this artist?
If I had the chance to work with any artist I would want to work with Dr. Dre. The man is a legend and an all around smart business man, and producer.
What is your current label status? Are you actively shopping for a deal?
I am currently not signed at the moment and I’m not shopping for a label either. I’m just putting in the work and letting them come to me.
It’s difficult to come up as an artist these days, what is your formula for success?
It is difficult to come up these days. I say the best formula for success would be to create your own lane and stay in that lane and ride it out.
What is your opinion about the music industry? What would you chance if you could?
My opinion about the industry right now is a mix: If you want to make it far you have to learn the business. If you want to make fans you have to make good music and if I had the chance I would change nothing everyone doing it right now is making it and you can’t knock them for that.
Anything else you would like to talk about?
One last thing I have to say is to my hometown of Albuquerque, NM. I promise imma put us on the map!
