Cooley High “Ain’ Gone loose No Sleep”
MMML: What is the significance of your name?
Cooley High: Cooley is my last name, and the High got added after indulging in a whole lot of weed smoking and pharmaceuticals. One of my older cousins from up north started calling me Cooley High just being sarcastic, and I was like “like the movie… Cooley High?” It has been attached to me every since.
MMML: Who is your target market?
Cooley High: I have a band so we’re going to cut up wherever we at whether it be a festival, street corner, pub, night club, theater or rest home for that matter. From 8 to 80, blind, cripple or crazy there is something in the catalog for everyone despite your demographic.
MMML: What sets you apart from other Hip Hop artists?
Cooley High: My brand is not just clothes and liquor, my style is not just tattoos and skinny jeans and my substance is not just about abuse. Other artist don’t patronize or mingle with their audience while I still go to $2 Tuesdays and .50 cents wing nights.
MMML: What single or project are you currently pushing?
Cooley High: Ain Gone Lose No Sleep is the single that we’re shopping along with Hop On It, and Freaky Girlz which are songs from the Ain Gone Lose No Sleep tape.

MMML: What is the philosophy by which you live by?
Cooley High: Dreams are made, they don’t just come to you.
MMML: Which artists have inspired you?
Cooley High: The late greats 2 Pac and Biggie for their unapologetic lyrics, David Banner, Big KRIT for representing Missippi, Outkast for being the opposite coming from the south, Eminem for being white in a dominantly black industry, Master P. and Jay Z. for their business savvy.
MMML: Who does your production?
Cooley High: Myself along with Atlanta native Bravestarr, Texas native Xavier Jordan, Missippi native Heartbeatz and a UK native Scott Styles
MMML: Are there any Singers or Rappers that you would like to collaborate with in the future?
Cooley High: I want Chris Brown, Pharrell, August Alsina on a hook, I need Big Krit on this song I got called “Cotton Fields,” Jeezy, Boosie, Snoop, and Yo Gotti on a song I got called “Dolomite,” and a host of others.
MMML: What is your LP going to be like?
Cooley High: Dope, new, and fresh. The delivery is special, the beats are different but still pounding, the message is in the text. I don’t have any major features on the album as of yet but we are working on it. It’s still fried chicken but with a different recipe.
MMML: Any final words for the people?
Cooley High: Ain Gone Lose No Sleep.
