We recently featured his music video “Up and Down” on our website and Ogeno received great feedback. We got a chance to interview Ogeno to find out a little more about his movement and what more to expect. Put Ogeno on your Artist to Watch list!

Q: Who is Ogeno?

Ogeno: I’m an artist from the Virgin Islands. I now reside in Vegas. Love music, love the studio and it shows thru my music.

Q: How would you describe your musical style?

Ogeno: I call my style hybrid. It’s a mix between hip hop, reggae and R&B

Q: What is the music scene like where you are from?

Ogeno: The music scene in the V is good. There is a hip hop, reggae & calypso influence heavy there, and depending on your style you have the luxury of using a compilation of all styles.

Q: How long have you been working as an artist?

Ogeno: I’ve been doing music since maybe back in 2000 but for the past 5 years or so I’ve felt that its been ready to be showcased to the public.

Q: What projects are you currently working on?

Ogeno: I’m about to release an E.P. of 7 tracks called Ogenogram in a few weeks. Music strictly for the bedroom.

Q: How do you feel about the current state of the music business?

Ogeno: The music business has changed as we all know. There are less sales now, so everything is either focused on your show or internet presence. Not so much your first week numbers after the release of your project.

Q: What’s the 5 year plan for Ogeno?

Ogeno: I trust that in 5 years I’ll be attached to a major situation in some capacity. Touring, overseas shows, and having a bigger impact on the industry as time moves forward.

Q: We have featured your song/video “Up and Down” featuring Riyah on our site. Tell us about that song and how you and Riyah hooked up for the track.

Ogeno: Myself & Riyah decided to do a joint project for release in early 2013. During the process of making the project, we created the song “Up & Down” and started performing it. Everytime we performed, the crowd loved the track so I decided to put it on my project Ogenogram and run with it as the first single due to the response we were getting from the record.

Q: Who directed the video? The quality is really good.

Ogeno: The director is Justin Hopgood

Q: Where can people find out more about your upcoming music and video releases?

Ogeno: Everything Ogeno and about Ogeno can be found on www.ogeno.tv and if all else fails you can always throw my name in google and my info comes up as well. Hit me up on instagram, twitter & youtube too, I’m easy to find…
