Artist Spotlight: Check out Brooklyn’s Own DJ Iceman
Born in Brooklyn,New York, Robert Anderson took to music at an early age. He started DJing at age 9, after getting his uncle’s old DJ equipment, and he’s been on a tear ever since as Dj Iceman
He has performed in New York, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Washington, Japan and Sydney; and worked with the likes of Heavy D, KRS One and a host of others.
Over the course of his career, he has become affiliated with some of the biggest DJ coalitions in the country and is a member of the Wu-Tang DJs, and the Universal Zulu Nation.
After over 30 years in the dj game, he is moving to the realm of beat making.
Having to scale down his dj activity due to health reasons, Dj Iceman has embarked on his beat making journey. After a year, his production company Big Boss Beatz is starting to make some noise. He has already secured placements on the BattleMe and Mobile Free Beats Apps, the Rap Music Inc., TV Show (On Aspire) and the new project from Wu-Tang affiliate Hell Razah. Dj Iceman is also a blogger, writer, and businessman.
Looking at the current climate in the industry, Dj Iceman took some of his dj money and opened up his own promotion and placement company (Big Boss Ent). In the last 3 years, Big Boss Ent has placed over 8,000 pieces of artist content on over 700 blogs and websites. He is also a blogger/writer for 15 sites and blogs. You can always find him spitting words of encouragement, business knowledge, humor or ranting on his Facebook page.
