New Music (Video) #Common and Andra Day “Stand Up For Something”
Common has returned to his socially-charged habitat alongside singer Andra Day to deliver on the music video for the “Stand Up For Something” track, released in tandem with the arrival of Marshall, the Reggie Hudlin-directed film that depicts Chadwick Boseman as Thurgood Marshall, the first African-American Supreme Court Justice, chronicling one of Marshall’s first cases as a young attorney.
Written by the GRAMMY-winning Diane Warren and Common, the cut features Day’s vocals at the forefront as Common eases in for a routinely perceptive verse. “I am so honored to have worked with Andra and Common on this important song. I am more proud of this song than any other I have ever written,” said Warren.
