The guy who once promised to support Transgender people during his campaign speeches, has now turned his back on them.
Trump stated today via twitter….
“After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow…… Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military. Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming….. victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you,” Trump wrote in a series of three posts on Twitter.
Former President Barack Obama’s then-Secretary of Defense Ash Carter lifted the ban on transgender military service in 2016, allowing for a year-long review process by the Pentagon to determine how to implement the policy.
This decision could affect 1,300 to 6,000+ people currently serving and reservist
