MMML: This is your third time winning our online music contest. This time around you won with the song “Consumed In Flames feat. Chris Ray. What’s the concept behind the song?
J Nic: The concept is basically telling the rest of the general public that we as emcees have this image to uphold. This image consists of tattoos, jewelry, and luxury everything. At the end of the day all of these things mean nothing. Your imprisoned by these materialistic things or in a sense consumed.
MMML: Are you and Chris Rey working on any other collabs together?
J Nic: Chris is a great singer I would love to work with him on another project. I owe the hook to him I mean the whole beat and hook was fire.
MMML: What’s Next for J Nic? What projects are you working on for 2015?
J Nic: pushing out the Av3rageJoe brand and working on producing more than recording looking for a female artist I can work with. Hit me up if you looking for work and exposure.
MMML: How do you maintain such a strong supportive fanbase?
J Nic: You have to be real. You have to be human. There are people that are going to hate you and people that will love you. A lot of people can relate to at least one of my records. I have people that share my stuff every day and vote twice a day religiously so I owe everything to them.
MMML: Any last words or shout outs?
J Nic: BIG shout out to Nelly Camara this 17 year old girl that’s dealing with cancer from MA. I wrote her a tune and raised her over a grand so I dedicate this to her. Obviously my producer Mark Cornell and shine beats. Hardwired studios, man everyone who believes in me. My mother… damn everyone man I could roll credits forever. Thanks to MMML for having me.
