Best Video Contest Winner- Lil Shaw
For the month of July, MyMusicMylife.com held it’s free Best Indie Music Video contest. There were many great videos in the contest. But in the end, Stop Snitchin by Lil Shaw topped over 600+ votes from the general public.
This was enough to seal the #1 video spot for the contest. We got a chance to talk to Lil Shaw about his video and what’s going on with his music career.

Q: Who is Lil’ Shaw?
Lil Shaw is the streets. I’m just a country boy from Pine Bluff, AR, trying to put on for my family and my city.
Q: What’s the music scene like where you are from?
Where I’m from its a lot of talented artist but nobody wanna give credit where credit is due. It seems like everybody just over look us but we will be heard!!!
Q: How long have you been working as an artist?
I been doing this music thing for about 12 years now. I do it simply for the love of it, unlike most artist who do it hoping to get rich from it. I just focus on putting out good quality music and what happens happen.
Q: Tell us something about you that most people might not know? I think I’m pretty straight forward. What you see is what you get! But despite my rough exterior I’m a pretty laid back humble guy. I give respect to those who respect me.
Q: Who directed the music video Stop Snitchin?
“Stop Snitchin” was directed by Mickey Guavis from Uliga productions, very talented cat!
Q: Is the Stop Snitching video based on a true story?
Oh yea, I’m sure a lot of people can cosign on that too. But mine was based on an incident that happen to me a year ago. I spent time in prison due to getting snitched on. That’s what inspired this track.
Q: How do you feel about Snitchin?
I feel if you do the crime and get caught up, take your time like a man instead of putting your B.S. on the next man. You can get killed in these streets playing with a mans freedom especially if he/she got mouths to feed!!!
Q: What projects are you currently working on?
Currently, I’m working on my fourth album titled “First Time Felon” which talks about the things I been going through this past year which started from me getting snitched on. Also, look out for my new single “All Mine” ft the H-town legend Lil KeKe and I got a big show coming up August the 17th in Fayetteville AR, @hooters so if you wanna see me live come out .
Q: What are your thoughts on the current state of the music industry?
I think the industry now a days are so fabricated. Nothing but bubble gum rappers who make one hit which just have a catchy hook but no lyrics what so ever. They really need to bring in more lyrical rappers who really have stories to tell with real messages.
