Jaesin Stone (Az Smooth) has come so far since his first mixtape “Stone602” rapping about coming up and making good off his talent. Three EP’s in, with INDEPENDENT HUSTLE, the “New comer” rising fast. The Az/D.M.V, Native composed a honest, from the heart album with no apologies. Stone typically sits on the fence of a conscious rapper and commercial artist. “Before now I’ve try to stay politically correct, tip toeing that line. But at this point of my career, I realize I’m doing myself and hip hop a disservice because I could speak from my soul by saying how I truly feel, I might say something that connects the dots for someone and touch that emotion, that might be the right connection that was needed,”
The 6-track, featureless Ep “Quota” the second song on the Ep features a string based melody with lyrics like “it all started with a box of baking soda, a pot and a couple soldiers, we cook it up and the we hit the conner, we double up trying to brake “Quota”. The track speaks on coming up from selling out the trunk to bring about to being able to touch the masses. “Fast Life” produced by long time friend Thaddeous Shade Az Smooth displays his creativity and lyrical skill using catchy phrases, and story telling ability to deliver a track that is inspiring and relatable. With the opening lines “I’m smoking switchers braking bread with my dogs. Feeling so accomplished as I’m checking off my goals. Cats see me rising want to elevate my soul. I’m dancing with the devil heavy metal rocking roll” the track “Fast Life” is one to have on repeat.
