Artist Spotlight: Ellysa “Shattered” Drops November 2nd

A survivor herself, ellysa announces “shattered” as her debut
release on November 2nd, 2018. Distributed by AWAL.

LOS ANGELES, CA – OCT 11, 2018 – Even in the
#metoo era, women still lurk in the shadows, voiceless and shattered. Choosing it as her debut release, ellysa wrote and produced “shattered” to encourage fellow survivors to take back the power stolen by sexual assault. Even for those fortunate enough not to be in the one in six statistic, ellysa’s raw, emotional lyrics and haunting melody capture you and, much like the
experience of sexual assault, won’t let you go.

Hitting the airwaves Friday, November 2, 2018, just before Election Day, “Shattered” will also be available for pre-order on all platforms and Spotify pre-save on Friday, October 26.

On November 10th, 2018 ellysa kicks off a four-state promotional tour, starting in Los Angeles. She will be heading to Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan. Shattering the Statistics
Simultaneous to the release of “shattered”, ellysa is launching
shatteringthestatistics.org to end the cycle of silence, with resources from nonprofit partners, and as a way for survivors to put back the pieces and share their stories within a supportive community. Recent events have proven that no one should have to wait thirty years to tell their story.

About ellysa
Raised between Japan, England, and America, ellysa’s gypsy soul-filled music crosses cultures. Her unique perspective is an escape for young people desperately seeking a way to deal with the world around them. A talented multi-instrumentalist, ellysa writes, composes and produces all of her music providing a
warmth and depth to her intimate sound.

Music Connection boasts, “[ellysa] delivers songs that are so timely right now, exploring life’s ugly realities, particularly those which pertain to the injustices of a male-dominated world.” Her social awareness and melodic tenderness leave a trademark on the songs she writes, and a lasting impression on those who
experience the music she creates.
