(Video) Beyonce At Coachella. Makes History, Brings out Jay-z & Destiny’s Child #Coachella 2018
The R&B powerhouse delivered unquestionably the greatest performance the desert has ever seen on Saturday night (April 14).
Not only that, Queen Bey made history at the annual music festival and then some. She’s the first black woman to headline Coachella, she broke the highest live streaming record ever and performed the longest Coachella dancing sequence onstage, and more.
Beyoncé opened her performance with “Crazy in Love” accompanied by a New Orleans-style brass marching band and 100 backup dancers. From there, she performed several songs from her Grammy-nominated album Lemonade as well as other songs from her expansive discography.
Beyoncé’s show was empowering and enlightening at the same damn time. She performed a tribute to Nina Simone and delivered quotes from Malcolm X.
At the end of her set, Beyoncé thanked the crowd for showing up and rocking out with her in the desert.
“I’m so happy that I am here,” she said. “I was supposed to perform at Coachella [last year] but I ended up getting pregnant – thank God! So I had time to dream and dream and dream with two beautiful souls in my belly. Thank you guys for sharing this with me. I hope y’all enjoyed the show.”
