Music Biz – Drake’s ‘Scorpion’ Spent More Weeks at No. 1 Than Any Album in 2018
Earning 184,000 equivalent album units, Scorpion holds onto its No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart for the fourth week in a row. The achievement bests Post Malone’s three-week run for beerbongs & bentleys in May, making Scorpion the album with the most weeks atop the charts in all of 2018.
The last album to spend four straight weeks at No. 1 was The Weeknd’s Starboy between January 21 and February 11 in 2017. Scorpion is the first album to spend its opening four weeks at No. 1 since Drake’s Views sat at the top of the Billboard 200 for nine consecutive weeks back in 2016.
Drake now has 25 total weeks at No. 1 in his career, tying JAY-Z for the second-most weeks at No. 1 among rappers. Eminem currently has the most total weeks at No. 1 for a rapper, with 32.
