Gucci Mane – Back On Road Feat. Drake (Prod. By Murda Beatz)
Yesterday, Drake hinted that tonight’s episode would be a celebration of this year’s biggest victory: Gucci Mane’s early return to the streets after a painful absence of almost three years. He wasn’t lying. After playing Wop’s return single, “First Day Out Tha Feds,” and a couple of his OG classics, Drake dropped one that he’d somehow managed to keep secret: A brand new collab joining the 6 God with Mr. Zone 6 himself. “Back on Road” is produced by young Murda Beatz, who was also behind the Views track “With You,” featuring PND.
With “Back on Road,” Gucci’s re-entry into rap society has, thus far, been as seamless as one could’ve possibly imagined. “Back on Road” comes a day after Wop showed up on Kanye West’s Cruel Winter super-collab. At this point, it’s hard to single out any one of the three tracks he’s returned with, but “Back on Road” will inevitably rocket its way up the charts if it gets an official release. As for Drake, after setting records with Views, he’s dropped off a few major features in a row — YG, Khaled (hardly a feature), and now this.
