Ice Cube and Dr.Dre wants No Part of Suge’s Lawsuit

ice cube dre and sugeAccording to The Hollywood Reporter, Ice Cube and Dr. Dre recently filed documents to be released from a wrongful death lawsuit that involved Suge Knight running over and killing Terry Carter on set of a commercial for “Straight Outta Compton.”

The lawsuit filed by Carter’s widow claims that people involved in the film should have known about the longstanding tension between Suge and Dre and hired security to handle any outbursts. Technical advisor Cle “Bone” Sloan reportedly started yelling at Suge to leave the set, and the former music exec reversed his truck, hitting Sloan and Terry Carter.

While the victim’s widow claims Cube and Dre are liable for her husband’s death, both artists accept no wrongdoing in the incident. They claim that they made a “specific request” to Sloan to ask Suge to leave the set, which Cube and Dre say “did not create undue risks for anyone, let alone Carter.”

Their motion states, “These allegations plainly demonstrate that allowing Suge to remain at the base camp posed a serious risk that Suge could have injured someone at the camp — including Dr. Dre, Bone or one of the numerous cast and crew working on the film. Certainly, the risk that Suge might leave the base camp and proceed to his fatal confrontation with Carter was no more foreseeable than the possibility that Suge would injure or kill someone else if he had been permitted to stay.”
