Music Biz– J. Cole’s ‘KOD’ Breaks Drake’s ‘Views’ Apple Music Streaming Record

J. Cole is moving units in a major way with KOD as his latest project has broken the U.S. record for most album streams in the first 24 hours of its release. His total of 64.5 million streams knocks Drake out of the top slot, whose 2016 album Views was the title holder up until this week with around a million less streams in 24 hours.

On top of that, seven songs from Cole’s KOD are in the top 10 of Apple Music’s most-streamed songs in a 24-hour period.

News of this streaming feat follows word that Cole’s title track “KOD” broke the opening day streaming record for Spotify; Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” previously held the record.
