Jay-Z’s Made In America Festival Upping Security For Tekashi 6ix9ine
Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine’s will have extra security in place, according to TMZ. A rep at the Mayor’s Office of Philadelphia has told the publication that event producers are doing everything they can to make the event safe for everyone, which includes “pouring a significantly heavier detail” into 6ix9ine’s performance specifically. According to sources, extra security was not requested by the rapper himself, but rather the organizers of the event.
Earlier this month, it was reported that shots were fired on the set of 6ix9ine’s video shoot with 50 Cent. Sources close to 6ix9ine said they did not believe that he or any of the other rappers on set were the targets of the shooting.
It is unclear exactly why 6ix9ine was not permitted to do the VMAs, though it could be due to his felony charges for “use of a child in a sexual performance,” for which he pleaded guilty in 2015.
