Justin Timberlake is finally ready. The pop star-turned-actor-turned business mogul released a video message today teasing his first new music in years, but is waiting a few more days to offer more specifics.

In the minute long video, a camera follows the singer as he walks through a recording studio, while a Timberlake voiceover discusses why it’s been so long (six and a half years since “FutureSex/LoveSounds”) between albums.

“I’m the one that sits and is obsessive about it before you even get to hear it,” he says. “As close as I get to it, I don’t think I can physically torture myself that much, year in and year out, and expect it to fulfill me the way that it does and the way that it is right now.”

Timberlake offers that he’s not interested in putting something out that he doesn’t love. “You just don’t get that every day,” he says. “You have to wait for it.”

The video closes with Timberlake entering the actual recording booth, putting on headphones and saying, “I’m ready.”

When viewed on Timberlake’s new site, the video is replaced with a countdown clock. Judging by the clock, Timberlake’s next announcement or release will arrive in three and a half days — Monday, Jan. 14 at 12 a.m. ET. That timing coincides with a tweet that Power 105.1 radio personality Charlamagne posted yesterday: “Justin, Jay Z Timberland. New record Monday,” he wrote.

Behind the countdown clock on Timberlake’s site is blurry, black and white text, with only a J, E and small bowtie graphic visible for now.

A source close to Timberlake confirmed to Billboard on Thursday that a new album is coming soon and sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that he has amassed around 20 new songs.

So, what do the new songs sound like? Another famous Justin tweeted at Timberlake right after the announcement was made, giving him the equivalent of an online high five. “I have heard some stuff,” Justin Bieber said. “U got a good reason to be ready.”

The full text of Timberlake’s video message:

“Someone asked me the other day, ‘so are you just done with music?’ It means more to me than anybody else in the world. Look I’ve only done two albums in ten years — that’s the way I really look at it. What does the next decade mean to me. I’m the one that sits and is obsessive about it before you even get to hear it. As close as I get to it, I don’t think I can physically torture myself that much, year in and year out, and expect it to fulfill me the way that it does and the way that it is right now. I don’t wanna put anything out that I  don’t love. You just don’t get that every day. You have to wait for it.”
