You know what TV really needs? More Snoop Dogg. More Martha Stewart. Hell, why not get the two titans together for a weekly televised dinner party that’s totally unscripted? That’s exactly what VH1 is doing with the ingeniously titled Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party, the just-announced new series that will premiere the first of its 10-episode debut season this fall.

“My homegirl Martha and I have a special bond that goes back,” Snoop Dogg said in a press release Monday. “We’re gonna be cooking, drinking, and having a good time with our exclusive friends. Can’t wait for you to see how we roll together!” The god Martha Stewart backed up Snoop’s promise of televised good times, confirming that the proceedings will be “very funny” indeed. “At our dinner party, we will exemplify America’s fascination with food, entertaining, and celebrity,” Stewart said.

The series sounds like a damn good scoop for VH1, with the network describing the show’s basic concept as follows:

A “half-baked” evening, you say? Here for it. Very, very here for it.

Of course, we’ve already seen that Snoop and Martha make a TV-worthy duo. Remember this?

Snoop is also bringing the story of two ganja-preneurs to MTV with the original series Mary + Jane, for which he wrote and performed the theme song. That series is also set to premiere this fall, meaning there’s never been a better time than now to be in the Snoop business.
