New Music Alert: (Videos) Beyonce’s ‘Sandcastles’ & ‘Love Drought’ Videos now on YouTube
If you’re still trying to deal after watching Beyoncé‘s visually stunning performance from Sunday night’s (Feb. 12) 59th annual Grammy Awards, take heart. You can either re-live the magic over and over again today thanks to the official videos for “Love Drought” and “Sandcastles.” After her first public appearance since announcing that she’s pregnant with twins, Bey offered up the stand-alone videos from the Lemonade visual album — which were part of her HBO special and were available to Tidal subscribers — up for free on YouTube on Sunday night.
The “Love Drought” video features the same haunting voice-over, with images of Bey laying down on the 50-yard-line of a football stadium, wading through ankle-deep water with a procession of dancers in long white dresses as well as the signature titled-back wooden chairs.
Continuing some of the same themes, the “Sandcastles” clip opens with the line that put a dramatic period on the Grammys performance, “if we’re gonna heal, let it be glorious.” It mostly finds the singer sitting on a low pillow at a keyboard performing the ballad amid images of a child’s paintings and loving close-ups of of her with husband Jay Z.
