It’s almost impossible to take your eyes off Teyana Taylor in her new video for her “Champions” freestyle. In the Sasha Samsonova-directed visual, Teyana takes center stage covered only in flakes of gold and dripping in chains through a stunning video made entirely of stop-motion pictures tied together.
“Dipped in gold the trophies home this bitch a champion,” Teyana declares over the hardened beat as she simultaneously takes us things to a whole new level, expertly contorting her body and flexing her dancing abilities as her motions match the intensity of the video. Soon enough, she goes full Spring Breakers and has a mask over her head and a gun in her hand in a powerful image that wields all kinds of power.
There’s no doubt that Teyana has been pushing the limits visually lately. Kanye West debuted his “Fade” video starring Teyana at the 2016 VMAs where she pretty much astounded everyone with her gym-inspired routine that updated the iconic Flashdance scene to 2016 and simultaneously launched 1,000 GIFs that will forever inspire people to get in shape.
