(Update) Porn Star Stormy Daniels Sues President Donald Trump Over Invalid “Hush Agreement”
Stormy Daniels, the famous porn star who was paid to keep quiet about her affair with Donald Trump, is reportedly suing the President now, alleging that her nondisclosure agreement before the 2016 election is invalid because Trump never signed it. The lawsuit alleges that Trump’s attorney, Michael Cohen tried to “intimidate her into silence.” The adult film star claims her obligation to keep quiet should’ve ended when Cohen breached the contract and publicly discussed the affair.
In the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday, Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, said she wanted to go public with the story of her affair with Trump in the weeks leading up to the presidential election in 2016 along with the dozen of other women who had came out. However, Trump’s attorney, Michael Cohen had intervened in an attempt to keep Clifford from coming forward.
Cohen, and Daniels’s attorney, Keith Davidson, negotiated what the lawsuit called a “hush agreement” in which she would be paid $130,000 dollars. After delays and even a wholesale cancellation of the contract, the payment arrived twelve days before the election, according to reports by the Washington Post. Cohen said recently that he used his own money to “facilitate” the payment to protect Donald.
The lawsuit also says Cohen has continued his attempts at silencing Clifford including as recently as February 27, 2018, but she’s finally had enough and is taking things to court.
