De’Von Pickett, affectionately known as Day Day to those who knew him well, was a well known tour hand for celebs like Pusha T, Common, Pharrell and more. Unfortunately, Pickett’s life was taken by a Philadelphia man who stabbed him to death last night (2/17). Another friend, Eric Parker, was also stabbed in the same brawl and is currently in critical condition. Queens rapper Nicki Minaj confirmed the news via Twitter, as the two were accompanying her as she rehearsed for her upcoming tour. The news has sent some of the industry’s biggest stars into complete shock, as De’Von was known as a positive, humble individual with a great spirit who will be dearly missed.
Fabolous wrote a lengthy IG post about his fallen friends. Rihanna and Nicki Minaj also dedicated IG posts to Pickett and tons of industry insiders have expressed their disbelief and have sent warm wishes to his family as well.
