Ariana Grande, the petite starlet with the crazy pipes — along with her crew at Sony/ATV and UMG Recordings— has been slammed with a lawsuit for copyright infringement over her hit song, “The Way”. Minder Music is claiming that the mega-hit stole the line, “What we gotta do right here is go back, back into time,” from The Jimmy Castor Bunch’s 1972 song “Troglodyte”. While the band of yesteryear’s line actually goes, “What we’re gonna do right here is go back, way back, back into time,” lawyers are still insisting that they are “substantially similar” in not only words, but enunciation, and placement in the composition.
