Drake fans who attended his Summer Sixteen Tour date in Detroit on Tuesday (Aug. 16) got a once in a lifetime moment when he introduced Eminem on stage.
Marshall Mathers didn’t need an introduction to send his homecrowd into a frenzy, but Drake gave him one anyway. “Detroit, make some noise for the greatest rapper that ever get on a mother—ing microphone”. And make noise they did. Lots of it. Drizzy offered more praise by bowing to his guest.
Eminem’s cameo at Joe Louis Arena marked just the first time he’s graced a Detroit stage since November. Drake, though, has worked these parts more recently with a July 28 show at the Palace of Auburn Hills. After the show, Eminem shared a snap of the pair on Instagram.
The heavyweight pow-wow follows an escalation in the beef between Drake and Joe Budden, Eminem’s Slaughterhouse bandmate and Shady Records signing. It all kicked off in April when Budden expressed his disappointment with Drake’s Views on his podcast and things have since transgressed into onstage jabs and snarky remarks, online trolling and even diss tracks.
Drake’s tour with Future moves to Pittsburgh’s Consol Energy Center on Wednesday night (Aug. 17).
