Last night (November 10h), Lil Wayne was the latest name in hip-hop to take on the Saturday Night Live stage to deliver on a performance on the sketch comedy show less than a day after gifting fans with bonus elections on his Carter V album. Kicking things off with “Can’t Be Broken,” alongside singer Halsey, Wayne was later accompanied by Swizz Beatz for the duo’s “Uproar” bop.
In addition to his live rendition, Weezy also joined Future in a signature SNL Digital Short along with Kenan Thompson, Pete Davidson and Chris Redd in a comedic skit about consent as they acknowledge their love of booties, but only with permission.
The skit finds Thompson, Redd, and Davidson as the primary members of rap group Booty Kings who, much to the surprise of female patrons in the club, respect women’s wishes to be left alone before Future and Wayne hop on the cut for some #MeToo era-approved lyrical commentary as Wayne raps, “Before we talk booty, talk emotional connection/Before we get emotional, and putting on protection.”
