It’s been more than a year since the idea of Maya Rudolph hosting a variety show was first floated around, so this has been a long time in the making. But it’s almost here scheduling to air May 19th on NBC. Today’s college freshmen were 2 years old when the Lewinsky scandal broke, so they definitely don’t remember variety shows. But they can be delightful and Maya Rudolph has proven both her musical and comedy talents time and time again, so if anyone’s going to do it, it’s her.
