2017 BET #HIPHOPAWARDS ALL FEMALE CYPHER @kashdoll @tokyojetz @rapsody @leikeli47
The 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards went down this past weekend (Oct. 6), and while the show doesn’t air until tomorrow night (Oct. 10), we’re getting previews on what to expect. The network is rolling out some of the cyphers that took place, including an all-female freestyle battle between Rapsody, Leikeli47, Kash Doll and Tokyo Jetz.
BET deemed the cypher as “Hip Hop’s fire femcees” while incorporating the rising talent, as DJ Premier spins the instrumental from Diddy’s latest record, “Whatcha Gon’ Do” with Rick Ross and Biggie Smalls. Leikeli47 kicks things off in a heavy fur coat, along with her signature bandana mask to cover her face, spitting some heavy bars before Tokyo Jetz takes over to show off her own rhyming talent.
These ladies did not come to play. They brought the wordplay and attitude to match. Click here to watch the cypher and here are some of the punch lines that stood out from each femcee.
Leikeli47 opened the cypher harmonizing Faith Evans “You used to love me” as her intro. She continued with “More racks, I just need more racks/ can’t trust him if he cheat on his income tax”.
Tokyo Jetz “Blue magic/ 90’s baby, you can call me crack”, “This burner open up, give you a female pap”
Kash Doll “I be exploring them foreign with more power than Starz”, “Stop it, please stop it/ Blowin money all in niemans/ Diddy boppin”
