Throughout his career, Gucci Mane has always taken new artists under his wing. Waka Flocka Flame, Young Thug, and Young Dolph are just a few of the artists who have received some form of mentorship from Gucci, and it seems he’s taken on a new protege in Playboi Carti.

Posting to Instagram Sunday, Gucci Mane shared a photo of himself and Carti with the caption: “I just want to be a better mentor to these talented new artists.” He tagged the post “PlayboiLaflare,” which sounds like it could be a great joint mixtape title somewhere down the line.

Since his release from prison in 2016, Gucci has worked with a number of “talented new artists,” including Lil Uzi Vert, Rae Sremmurd, Dreezy, and Lil Yachty.
