(Video) Watch Common and Mary J. Blige Perform at the 2018 Oscars
Mary J Blige didn’t win the two Oscars she was nominated for, but she do a great job on her performance.
Introduced by Taraji P. Henson, Mary easily had the best performance of the night, even though Coco ended up taking home the Best Original Song award. The internet erupted with praise following her powerful showing, with fans rallying behind the singer, and essentially proclaiming her to be a national treasure.
Common, who was nominated again this year for Best Original Song as well for his track with Andra Day, “Stand Up for Something” from Marshall, also performed at the ceremony with Andra.. Common previously won an Oscar back in 2015 for “Glory” with John Legend from the Ava DuVernay film, Selma. He’s the only rapper ever to have won an Emmy, Oscar and a Grammy, and is only one step away from EGOT status.
